Colin McGuire

Hello!

I'm Colin McGuire, and my musical journey began at the age of 4 with the violin. At 8, inspired by the movie Back to the Future, I picked up the guitar, a lifelong dream of mine.

I started playing in church and made sure to practice every day for at least an hour. At 15, after experiencing a heartbreak, I began writing my own music—and that was the moment music became a constant presence in my life.

Since then, music has opened doors for me, allowing me to make lasting friendships, unwind, and even earn a living as a studio musician in New York City. Playing guitar has been incredibly rewarding, and I love sharing that passion with others who are interested. These days, I perform and release music regularly, playing open mics and gigs around the Raleigh/Fuquay area, while continuing to write new songs.

I’m thrilled to be here at the Rock and Roll High School!

My musical styles include country, jazz, jam, soul, ska, and acoustic/singer-songwriter.
